Troy School District 30-C - Staff Technology Training

|
| Introduction |
Beginning in January 2010, the Troy Technology Department will begin to offer 'in-house' training opportunities to all Troy staff members. We look forward to bringing you into our new technology training facility and assisting you with improving your technology knowledge and skills.
The types of workshops that are going to be offered will vary and each workshop topic will determine the type of audience that will participate . Our current plan is to begin offering workshops that involve equipment operation above and beyond it's basic use. We will also offer training sessions that will expand your knowledge and awareness of the district's technology resources. As we begin to get a grasp on the staff's training needs and desires, the workshop selections will expand and become more focused. We ask that you take a few moments to read the details of how the program will be implemented and also please take some time to read through the program logistics. |
| Program Details and Logistics |
Scheduling:
- Sessions will take place during working hours
- Each training session will be three hours (1/2 day). There may be full day sessions in the future
- The session start times and ending times will coincide with the participants regular school day hours
|
Participants and Grouping Options:
- Participants can/may include: Certified Teaching Staff, Non-Certified Teaching Staff, ESPs, Administrators
- Technology training facility allows for no more than six participants per session
- Sessions will be grouped in a variety of ways depending upon the topic. Sessions may be grouped by: Grade level, skill level, grade level within one building, participant availability, etc.
|
|
Terms:
- All sessions offered at this time will be single sessions. We will not currently be offering any weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc. sessions.
- The same topic may be offered more than once depending upon interest level (this will be determined by number of sign-ups there are for a session offering)
|
|
Participant Selection Process:
- Participants will be asked to register online for each session
- All sessions will have a registration deadline date
- Training sessions will designate which 'group' of individuals are eligible to sign up for a particular session
- Registering (or signing up) for a training session does not constitute an individual's automatic participation in that session (see next bullet)
- Due to the limited number of spaces available for each training session, the technology coordinator will consult with the building principal and/or department director to assist (& approve) in making the final selection of an individual(s) that can/will participate in a particular session
- Session participants will receive a confirmation email stating they have been selected to participate in a particular training session. Details of the session (date, time, place, etc) will be included in the email
- The technology department does have limited funding available to secure subsitutes for any certified teaching staff participants. Teachers will be asked to work with their building secretary to secure a substitute for any/all 1/2 day sessions after receiving the technology training session email confirmation
